New P Plate Rules – Know your exemptions
July 28th 2014 will bring many changes for P Plate Drivers in South Australia. These changes bring SA in line with most other states, they are not new ideas, they are just new to us in this state. It's official. We just found this on the SA Gov My Licence site: graduated-licensing-scheme/gls_changes The changes will effect all South Australian L and P drivers no matter how long they have had their L's or P's. Night driving and passenger restrictions plus an additional year on P2's are main changes for P Drivers. South Australian P Plate Laws – Beyond The Hype
What will new South Australian P Plate laws really mean? Importantly, the Learner driver age of 16 years, Learner Test, minimum 12 months on Ls and 75 hours requirements will all stay the same. Hazard Perception Test will have to be passed before getting P1 license rather than between P1 and P2.
