Drive Smart and all other South Australian car driving instructors have been directed under the Emergency Management Act to suspend all in-car driver training and assessment services for the issue of a car licence effective from Friday 10 April 2020.
This means no more driving lessons, Tests (VORT) or Assessments (CBT&A Logbook) with a driving instructor. This new Direction is upon advice of the Chief Public Health Officer, and provides greater protection of South Australians, in line with the COVID–19 physical distancing recommendations.
But…. You can still go driving
Department of Transport (DPTI) officials have confirmed that “people who hold a learner’s permit can still go driving with a Parent or other Qualified Supervising Driver who is living in the same house as the learner driver”.
What does this all this mean for Drive Smart Driving School? It means we are still here to help people learn to drive safely and become great drivers, that is what we do. We are still working hard to help new drivers become great drivers.
Driving Lesson Tips – Steering
Creating Driving Lesson Videos is part of what we are doing. We encourage you to make use of this and other clips we will be putting up over the next weeks. Use them to learn new skills to to help you stay on track and practice existing skills. Make the most of this time so that you are better prepared for when things return to the “new normal” and we can get back to helping you on road again.
Looking forward to seeing your new skills when we are all back on the road. Show us what you can do.

I really need to get my Ps, and i only had one more lesson to do before i could get my Ps. Cases have dropped in SA, and school is back on where thousands will be in a building, but SA wont let driving lessons happen even tho there is just 2 people. Please change this rule ASAP, it dosnt make any sense.
