Reversing camera systems help drivers stay safe on the road. Many more drivers are keeping their independence.
In the past, drivers unable to turn their head sufficiently were forced to give up their licence. This is no longer the case for more and more drivers.
Multi camera reversing systems enable drivers to see and stay safe. Well designed systems may even allow drivers to see more than is possible using mirrors and turning their heads.
Blind spot mirrors can help with lane changing but don’t help when reversing out of car parks or driveways. Standard reversing camera systems look behind but won’t see the child running along the foot path.
Drive Smart have a driving school car equipped with an adaptable multi camera rear view system. Drivers can discover a whole new world of independence and safety.
Drivers can drive and practice with the systems discovering what works best for them. All driving sessions are supported by an experienced driving instructor. We then write up a specification sheet to take to you choice of installer.
Camera systems are best installed by a recognised vehicle modifier who will install a system suited to your vehicle.
Drivers who can’t turn their head still get a great view
The image above is a screen shot of monitor set up for three camera reversing system. Lower section shows standard reverse or back (B) camera view. Upper section shows left (L) and right (R) camera view. Even drivers who cant turn their heads can still get a great view as they reverse.
Three and four camera systems are available. A fourth front left camera can be used to gain a better side view in traffic.
Drivers who experience high levels of pain when turning their head can now negotiate complex traffic conditions relatively pain free. Rather than several looks to the left and right, drivers can watch the monitor then take one final look with their eyes to make absolutely sure before proceeding. Ten high pain ‘spikes’ can be reduced to one or two at each major intersection turn.
Drivers using these systems can drive much more safely and drive for longer periods with out undue pain.
These systems can mean the difference between stopping after ten minutes and driving across town to work every day.
Drivers have passed their driving tests and returned to driving using camera systems. Maybe you can too.
